Barry, Cisco, and Caitlin find her father Thomas at an Arctic facility and bring him to S. T. A. R. Labs, where he reveals that both he and Caitlin have developed ice powers as a result of his experiments to treat their ALS gene. Thomas claims that he is dying as a result of never having revealed an alternate identity such as Killer Frost, but Cisco is suspicious. He returns to Thomas 'lab, where he discovers that "Thomas" is actually an alternate identity, wearing skin grafts to impersonate him. Caitlin realizes that the serum she created to cure her father will actually kill his human side. Thomas 'cornered alter ego, "Icicle", appears and attempts to kill the Flash team with absolute zero temperatures, but Caitlin is rendered immune. When the rest of the team is incapacitated, Killer Frost returns and defeats Icicle, forcing him to flee. The Flash team determines that Dominic Lance / Brainstorming forces caused the disappearance of Frost's Killer, and they also learn the name of Cicada's niece, Grace.
