The team hires Harrison Sherlock Wells to help them catch the Cicada, which Nora reveals is unstoppable in the future. Caitlin and Ralph confront Caitlin's mother, Carla Tannhauser, who denies forging her husband's death certificate. Later, they hack into her files and find a suicide note from Caitlin's father. Sherlock accurately identifies Cicada as David Gersh, as he has previously been right 37 times. However, as a result of Nora's intervention in the timeline, his identity on Earth-1 changed. Cicada attacks Joe to lure out Vibe, and when Cisco arrives, Cicada stabs him and breaks his arm. Barry arrives, but is easily defeated. Nora sets off an explosion to drive the Cicada away, which results in Cisco's apparent death. However, Cisco reappears, using the hacking machine to escape.
