In the year 2049, Thawne warns Nora that they must act quickly to stop the Cicada once and for all, because a new timeline is trying to make its way into existence, bringing with it something really big. In the present, Nora and Barry confront a new metahuman, the Acid Master, whose burn was on a newspaper article shown to Nora in the future, leading her to conclude that the final confrontation with Cicada is upon them. Meanwhile, Joe and Cecile question Dr. Ambre about working with Orlin. She then reveals to them that Grace is now a metahuman. When Barry tells Orlin about this, he reassesses his vendetta and is convinced to take the metahuman medicine because of the possibility of healing Grace. Orlin is taken to the S. T. A. R. Lab and gets the cure, but during the operation, the facility is attacked by a new Cicada, which gains control of Orlin's dagger and uses it to kill Dr. Ambre before abducting Orlin. In a cabin in the woods, a new Cicada exposes itself to show adult grace.
