Jesse arrives on Earth-1 to talk to his father. Eco-terrorist Veronica Dale detonates a nuclear bomb, which Barry tries to stop by entering a form of superspeed known as Flashtime, where everything freezes. However, the bomb has already exploded, and he and Jessie can't stop it or save everyone with superspeed. Jay Garrick arrives from Earth-3 to help, but they are still unable to stop him. Barry stays in Flashtime for hours, involving each of his friends in an attempt to find a solution.; they discuss options such as freezing or sending to another Earth, but none of these solutions are viable. Eventually, Iris gives him the idea to extract a Quark Sphere from the Velocity Force to send a lightning blast through the bomb to disable it. Barry does this and throws the Sphere back into the Speed Force, saving Central City. Jay reveals that he is training a new female speedster to take his place. Jessie and Jay return to their Lands, and Caitlin and Wells go for coffee, where they meet a mysterious girl.
