Barry is placed on indefinite police leave because of his connection to the Devoe case. The team meets another metahuman bus named Izzy Bowen with abilities for sound waves, which she can amplify with her violin. She manages to use her abilities when DeVoe comes for her. Barry and Ralph help Izzy train to improve her abilities, which proves difficult when she is injured. Devo eventually reappears, using Dominic and Becky's abilities to force Barry to experience a brain aneurysm, and also using Randin's abilities to incapacitate Ralph. Devo uses his chair again to transfer his mind into Izzy's body, and escapes. Both Ralph and Barry console each other over their losses: Barry was fired from the police, and Ralph lost Izzy to Divo. These losses strengthen both Barry and Ralph in their determination to destroy Devo and save the three remaining metas.
