Iris has been helping the Flash team in Central City for six months, but refuses to upset Barry. A flying samurai with superpowers appears in the Central City, threatening to destroy the city if the real Flash does not meet him face to face. Cisco reveals that he has formulated a way to get Barry back without destabilizing the Speed Force, and tracks down Caitlin for help, but Iris forbids him to get Barry back. Contrary to Iris ' orders, the Flash team successfully returns Barry, who mutters random statements and constantly writes symbols on the walls. Wally engages the samurai in battle, but is defeated. Cisco decrypts Barry's notes and finds an apparently meaningless sentence. In an attempt to restore Barry's memories, Iris gives herself to a samurai. The plan works, and Barry races away, rescuing Iris and defeating the samurai, who turns out to be an android. Caitlin joins the Flash team, but it is revealed that she worked for the gangster Amunet Black, and also continued to prevent the identity of Frost's Killer from appearing.
