Barry travels back in time to when Hartley Rathaway attacked the team, and changes places with his past self so Thawne can help him solve the speed force equation. However, after a while, Reith follows Barry into the past, and Thawne deduces Barry's deception. Barry manages to convince Eobard to help him get faster. The ghost arrives at the lab, where Caitlin and Cisco are forced to accept help from Hartley to contain the ghost. After that, Barry arrives from the current time, forcing him to explain the time travel event. Thawne supplies the future Barry with information about tachyon technology so that he can return to his own time. As Barry prepares to make a time jump, a Ghost appears, forcing Barry from the past timeline to intervene so that his future self can return. Back in his own time, Barry confronts the Ghost, but a reformed Hartley arrives with his sonic gloves and defeats the ghost.
