While everyone is trying to move on, the humanoid monster shark that Harry stopped, known as the "King Shark", escapes from custody and heads to Central City to kill the Flash. John Diggle and Lila Michaels, the new director, arrive to warn Barry. The shark King, later revealed to be Shay Lamden, appears at Barry's house looking for flashes, tracking Barry's electric field. A. R. G. U. S. has arrived and forces Shay to retreat. Later, Barry forces the King Shark to drive him out onto the water, where Barry creates an electrified underwater cyclone that subdues him and allows A. R. G. U. S. to put him back in prison, while Lila plans to find a cure. Barry vows to open a breach back to Earth-2 to stop Zoom. Meanwhile, Barry and Wally find it difficult to develop a relationship. After Caitlin becomes cold due to Jay's death, Cisco begins to fear that she will become the Frost Killer; but she assures him that she is only dealing with her own grief. Back on Earth-2, Zoom exposes Jay.
