Just before the particle accelerator exploded, Joey Monteleone was thrown into a tar pit and left for dead. Sealed, he is released after two years with the ability to turn his body into molten resin. He intends to take revenge on those who tried to kill him. Harry creates a device to pump energy from Barry's speed and attaches it to his suit. He steals some of Barry's speed. Wells gives power to Zoom, which requires everything else. Meanwhile, Wells and Barry also successfully find a way to close the gaps. While going after Joey, Iris is injured when Barry is too slow to save her. Wells tells the team about the device, asking them to return it to Earth-2 and get Barry to seal the gaps so that Zoom can't re-enter.
