Ronnie and Stein transform into a Firestorm and help Barry destroy the singularity, but at the cost of Ronnie's life. Six months later, Barry works alone, using his speed to repair Central City, being accepted by the public as a hero; Cisco works at the police department alongside Joe, and Caitlin works at Mercury Labs. Barry examines the crime scene with a victim named Al Rothstein. At the ceremony, the Flash is attacked by the Atomic Smasher, whose strength and size manipulation prove too much for Barry, but he manages to throw off the mask. Under the mask, an Atomic Smasher is revealed, which looks exactly like Rothstein. Barry is convinced by Joe and the others that he needs help in destroying some of the metahumans, and Rothstein is defeated by excessive radiation absorption. When he dies, Rothstein tells Barry that he was sent to kill him by someone named "Zoom". Barry receives a flash memory from lawyer Harrison Wells containing his confession to Nora's murder. Henry is acquitted and released from prison, and leaves Central City so Barry can focus on being the Flash. Man arrives at S. T. A. R. And, posing as Jay Garrick, tells the team that their world is in danger.
